What is Boulder Digital Arts?
BDA's main mission is to provide affordable training in the digital arts.  We structure our all-day classes, and evening workshops, to be small in size, so students get full attention from the instructor.  Our instructors are working professionals; therefore they really KNOW the subject they're teaching!

Do I need to be a member of BDA to take classes?
No, you do not need to be a member of BDA to take our classes!  One advantage to being a member is a significant discount on tuition.  Typically, the membership will pay for itself if you plan on taking at least two classes or workshops during the course of a year. Click here to find out more about our membership program.

What's the difference between a user profile and a membership?
A free BDA profile is your key to all the features and functionality on the BDA web site - it's how we know who you are when you're using our site. When you login with a BDA profile you are able to register for training, create directory listings, post to our discussion forums, view current and past event registrations and manage all aspects of your account with us. Once you have a BDA profile you can become a member in one easy step. This basically "upgrades" your profile. Once you login to the BDA web site as a member you are able to register for events and training at the discounted rate. Click here to find out more about our membership program.

Am I going to get junk mail from you once I'm on your mailing list?
BDA sends out an informative email about once a week, containing information that's relevant to the digital community.  However, once you have created your user profile, you can always change the setting in your profile and choose not to receive any email from us.  In addition, BDA has a strict privacy policy that it does not sell, rent, or otherwise give any info from its database to ANY third-party.

How do I contact BDA?
The best way to contact us is to email info@boulderdigitalarts.com; we reply to most emails pretty quickly. Since we are a small organization, we try to discourage phone calls. However, if you absolutely need to talk with someone immediately, please call 303-875-0276, and we will do our best to reply in a timely manner.

What's the format of BDA classes?
We have a few styles of classes, so you can find the type that best fits your needs, and your individual learning style.  Many BDA events are one-night workshops, typically held from 6pm to 9pm on a weekday.  These workshops are held lecture-style, with the instructor demonstrating on their computer, which is projected from our ceiling-mounted high-definition projector for the class to follow along.  For those students that prefer a more hands-on learning style, BDA offers hands-on training; typically from 9am to 5pm on a weekend day.  BDA provides each student with their own state-of-the-art computer, which, depending of the nature of the training can be used in either Macintosh OSX or Windows.  BDA provides a wireless microphone for the instructor to wear, as well as a 5.1 surround-sound stereo amplification system for an optimal listening environment.

What are my options for paying event registration fees?
You can pay by credit card, check, or cash.  The easiest way to pay for a class is by credit card when registering online.  For your security, we provide a secure server in which to process the transaction, and do not store any of your credit card information in our database.  If you prefer, you can also pay by check by mailing it to Boulder Digital Arts, P.O. Box 2161, Boulder, CO  80306.  However, it is important to note that due to the delay in sending payment by mail, there is the slight chance that the event will sell out before we receive your payment.  In that case, we will notify you immediately of your options.  In the rare instances when people show up the night of a class not having pre-registered, payment can also be made in cash.

Is there a minimum number of students needed to hold an event?
Typically, there is a minimum number of six students required to hold an evening workshop, and a minimum of three students for our all-day hands-on classes.

Do I have to pre-register; can't I just show up for a class?
Since BDA keeps its class sizes to a minimum, it is important to pre-register, and pay, ahead of time.  If you have not pre-registered, there is the chance that the class will be full when you show up, and you will not be admitted. In addition, by not pre-registering, there is a chance that the class will not be held at all since it might not have met the minimum number of students required.

We have a group of people that we'd like to get trained right away - we can't wait till the next time BDA is offering the class; can we have our own class?
Yes; BDA has been offering corporate training for several years now.  We can provide training at our training facility, or we can teach it at your company's location.  Please contact us with your needs, and we'll work with you to come up with a curriculum that is not only cost-effective, but also perfectly suited to your company's requirements.

If I need to cancel my class registration, what is the refund policy?
Though we try to be flexible whenever possible, we do have a very detailed refund and credit policy; please click here to read.

What if I'm not happy with a class I just took?
BDA stives toprovide the highest quality training to each and every participant.  If for some reason you are ever unhappy with the quality of instruction you have received, please let us know immediately by emailing the owners through our contact form.
