Where is your facility and what are the hours?
The BDA Arapahoe Studio is located at Arapahoe Avenue and Range Street in Boulder (approximately 52nd and Arapahoe) on the northeast corner of Range and Arapahoe. The building is .6 miles east of Foothills Parkway, and .25 miles west of 55th Street. Range is the street that is between the stoplights at Conestoga and Commerce. Parking is available all around the building.
Our hours vary depending on what's going on that particular day/week, so it's generally best to email (email@example.com) or call first (303-800-4647). We are closed for holidays on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & the Friday after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.
What's the difference between Boulder Digital Arts (Boulder Digital Arts) and Boulder Digital Works (BDW)?
Though we share similar names and teach people similar technologies, we come at it from different points of view. Boulder Digital Works (them) has a great academic program aimed at teaching people digital theory and strategy with a business focus, and is backed by the University of Colorado. Boulder Digital Arts (us) is non-academic instead, we're focused on providing practical skills for technology and creative professionals quickly and cost-effectively. Both organizations provide top-quality training and, in fact, Boulder Digital Arts supplements the Boulder Digital Works program with practical skills training by providing each of their students with Boulder Digital Arts memberships as well as Boulder Digital Arts classes of their choice.
Am I going to get junk mail from you once I'm on your mailing list?
How do I contact Boulder Digital Arts?
The best way to contact us is to email firstname.lastname@example.org - we reply to most emails pretty quickly. Since we are a small organization, we try to discourage phone calls. However, if you absolutely need to talk with someone immediately, please call 303-800-4647, and we will do our best to reply in a timely manner.
What's the format of Boulder Digital Arts' classes?
We have a few styles of classes, so you can find the type that best fits your needs, and your individual learning style. Many Boulder Digital Arts events are one-night workshops, typically held from 6pm to 9pm on a weekday. These workshops are held lecture-style, with the instructor demonstrating on their computer, which is projected from our ceiling-mounted high-definition projector for the class to follow along. For those students that prefer a more hands-on learning style, Boulder Digital Arts offers hands-on training, typically from 9am to 5pm on a weekend day. Some hands-on classes require you to bring your own computer, while others include a computer provided by BDA. In many cases, BDA has computers available for rent at very low prices for those students who don't have access to one.
BDA's Certificate Programs provide participants with a wide range of knowledge and skills within a particular discipline. They emphasize practical knowledge and skills with a project-based learning approach that combines engaging lectures with hands-on practice. Certificate Programs are offered in a variety of schedule formats including weekday, weekend and evening. Every Certificate Program has a clear and concise outcome for students and is designed to provide maximum value in a relatively short period of time. Learn more.
What are my options for paying event registration fees?
You can pay by credit card, check, or cash. The easiest way to pay for a class is by credit card when registering online. For your security, we provide a secure server in which to process the transaction, and do not store any of your credit card information in our database. If you prefer, you can also pay by check by mailing it to Boulder Digital Arts, 1600 Range Street, Suite 100, Boulder, CO 80301. However, it is important to note that due to the delay in sending payment by mail, there is the slight chance that the event will sell out before we receive your payment. In that case, we will notify you immediately of your options. In the rare instances when people show up the night of a class not having pre-registered, payment can also be made by credit card or cash.
Is there a minimum number of students needed to hold an event?
Typically, there is a minimum number of six students required to hold an evening workshop, and a minimum of three students for our all-day hands-on classes.
Do I have to pre-register can't I just show up for a class?
Since Boulder Digital Arts keeps its class sizes to a minimum, it is important to pre-register, and pay, ahead of time. If you have not pre-registered, there is the chance that the class will be full when you show up, and you will not be admitted. In addition, by not pre-registering, there is a chance that the class will not be held at all since it might not have met the minimum number of students required.
How do I register more than one person for an event?
To register more than one person, simply register each additional person one at a time under your name, and in the "Notes" section, just indicate the specific individual who will actually be attending or indicate during the online registartion process when asked.
We have a group of people that we'd like to get trained right away - we can't wait till the next time Boulder Digital Arts is offering the class can we have our own class?
Yes! Boulder Digital Arts has been offering corporate and private training for many years. We can provide training at our facility, or we can teach it at your company's location. Please contact us with your needs, and we'll work with you to come up with a curriculum that is not only cost-effective, but also perfectly suited to your company's requirements.
If I need to cancel my class registration, what is the refund policy?
Though we try to be flexible whenever possible, we do have a very detailed refund and credit policy - please click here to read.
What if I'm not happy with a class I just took?
Boulder Digital Arts strives to provide the highest quality training to each and every participant. If for some reason you are ever unhappy with the quality of instruction you have received, please let us know immediately by emailing us through our contact form, or simply emailing email@example.com.
What happens if a class is canceled due to bad weather?
Boulder Digital Arts very rarely cancels a workshop when the weather is bad. If the weather is severe enough that we decide to cancel, we will call AND e-mail everyone registered for the class as soon as we make the decision. If you do not hear from us, assume the class is on! Please keep in mind that if you are interested in a class but have not registered, you will not receive ANY notifications about its status, so please register early! In addition, please be sure to have a current phone number listed in your profile, so that we're able to call you ahead of time.
