What does it take to get your movie in to top film festivals? Director/Producer/Editor T.C. Johnstone will talk about his amazing journey making the feature doc, “Rising from Ashes,” and how it achieved festival success at our February 21st meeting.
Don't wait to register - it's sure to be a standing room only event! www.Meetup.com/Boulder-Filmmaking-Incubator
Over six years in the making, Rising from Ashes was an epic undertaking. With funding of $800,000, the production covered three continents in some of the most challenging shooting environments in the world. It tells a remarkable story about two worlds colliding when cycling legend Jock Boyer moved to Rwanda to help a group of struggling genocide survivors pursue their dream of a national bicycling team. Setting out against impossible odds, both Jock and the team find new purpose as they rise from the ashes of their past.
T.C. began making films in Steamboat Springs 10 years ago. After producing his first feature, he moved to California and began working as a DP and documentary director on a wide variety of projects ranging from television to independent films. A story hunter, T.C. has a passion for redemptive themes and world issues with a simple vision - allow audiences to dream.
In 2014, T.C. and his wife moved to Boulder. After years away from Colorado, they came back to raise a family and to be a part of Boulder’s incredible creative community.
