Description:
Thanks for helping us celebrate BDA's 4th Anniversary - we had an exciting party at
Boulder's Museum of Contemporary Art, featuring an interactive exhibit
by you - the area's most talented digital professionals!
BMOCA was transformed the night of February 20 into a
digital gallery, so people could experience the work of filmmakers, photographers, web
designers, DVD programmers, and more. In addition to the exhibit, we had an amazing DJ performance featuring the cool ReacTable! Andrew Brislin, Warren and Chris Anton were kept busy throughout the night explaining how it all worked - basically, several simultaneous performers share complete control over the
instrument by moving and rotating physical objects on a luminous round
table surface - which we projected onto the wall of the museum!
Take a look at some photos from the evening - taken by Mark Quentin, of Studio Q Photography - Just click on "Image Gallery" on the right side of this page!
Another cool thing that evening - 42 Productions was kind enough to bring their new RED camera! Brad Wallace and Paul Lee from 42 spent a lot of time explaining how it all works, and describing just how amazing the pictures it captures are. It was a great addition to the party - thanks you guys!
The constant short screenings throughout the evening, going on in the upstairs performance space, were completed by BDA's Fast Filmmaking Incubator, facilitated by Marianne Leviton. Well done - some very nice work!
We gave away some great raffle prizes, including a light and softbox from Chimera Lighting, a DVD duplication package worth $500 from Alpine Media Duplication, a 1/4 page display ad and one-year subscription to the Boulder County Business Report, and big high-resolution prints from Eight Days A Week and PhotoCraft. Congratulations to Steven Vanek, who won the grand prize - the Chimera light & softbox!
Special thanks to:
- Davis Creative Technology for making the DVD reels - BMOCA and all their staff for hosting the party - Brian Day and Daylight Productions for all the video and projection equipment - DJ’s Andrew Brislin, Warren and Chris Anton - Eight Days A Week for all the printed signage - And a huge thanks to Marianne Leviton and all the wonderful BDA volunteers who worked so hard to make the party such a big success!
