Description:
This exciting workshop will help you get the most out of your video camera and shoot like a pro! Whether you're a budding filmmaker or a soccer mom, this class will enable you to shoot footage you'll be proud to show to other people. It's specifically geared towards people using their digital video cameras to shoot better footage - of company training videos, event documentation, kids, YouTube shorts, and more! This workshop will cover:- Camera controls and basic operations
- Basic shooting techniques
- Basic lighting techniques, including the classic 3-light setup, as well as how best to use common household light fixtures.
- Shooting using "manual" modes rather than automatic including focusing, exposure, and white balance.
- Composition and getting good coverage for editing (wide, medium, close, cut-aways, etc.)
- Tips on getting good audio
In three hours, you'll learn the basics of shooting really good-looking video! Bring your questions, so that you'll leave the class ready to shoot your next video and have it look awesome! If you have one, we encourage you to bring your video camera!
Presented as a Lecture-Style Workshop:
These are our most affordable training programs, designed to introduce a subject quickly and efficiently. Students can take notes from the instructor's projected computer screen, and/or bring their own computer to follow along. Lecture-style workshops are normally held on weekday evenings from 6 pm – 9 pm and contain a maximum of 30 students (average is 8-20).

Beginning videographers who seek to better understand how to use their video camera and improve their shooting skills, whether working with consumer or professional cameras.
Instructor:
 Energetic and passionate about all things video, Ethan Benninger works by day as an editor for People Productions in Boulder. He has worked with both national and international clients such as ABC Family, GE, The American Red Cross, Papa John's Pizza and The Food Network. Ethan’s projects include documentaries, TV spots, and everything in between. In addition to being an Apple Certified Pro on multiple applications within Final Cut Studio, he is also an Apple Certified Final Cut Pro Trainer, and teaches at the Art Institute of Colorado in downtown Denver.
