Description:
Want to learn how to create a logo or illustration that can be
displayed at any size and never loose quality? Start learning how to
use the industry-leading application for creating "vector graphics". By
re-creating one of the instructor’s personal illustrations as the basis
for learning, this course will bring you, step-by-step, through the
basics of Adobe Illustrator.  Bring your own computers to follow along if you wish!
The workshop will cover:
- Layers
- Using the pen tool to draw Bezier-curves.
- Working with paths and strokes
- Using the color palette and gradients
- Combining basic shapes to create new, complex shapes.
- Scaling and rotating
- Transparency
- Clipping paths
- Placing text
- Fun effects like the Symbol Sprayer Tool and Extrude and Bevel effect.
- Saving your files
Instruction will be presented in Adobe Illustrator CS4.
Presented as a Lecture-Style Workshop:
Affordable workshops designed to introduce a subject quickly and efficiently. Students can take notes from the instructor's projected computer screen, and/or bring their own computer to follow along.
Who Should Take This:
Participants should have a good working knowledge of operating a personal computer, either a PC or Mac.
Instructor:
Kevin Menzie runs a local print and web design/development agency called Slice of Lime and uses Adobe Illustrator on a daily basis to create icons, logos, and print pieces.
