Description:
Maybe you’ve edited a couple of videos in Final Cut or maybe just
peeked inside at the interface. Don’t panic. This comprehensive, two-day course begins
with a quick review of Final Cut Pro basics and then dives into features that enable you to get the most out of this amazing editing tool! This class is limited to 5 students, each of whom will enjoy the comfort of a personal workstation.Not sure about the differences between Final Cut Studio (a suite of
editing applications) and Final Cut Express (a condensed version of

Day 1 Curriculum:
FCP Workflow - Setup - Codecs Ingest - Media Management - Capture vs Transfer - Import Basics - Overwrite vs Insert - Multitrack Video Tools - Ripple, Roll, Slip - Replace Edit - Multicam
Day 2 Curriculum:
Audio - Keyframes - Mixer Transitions and Filters - Customizing - Color Correction - Compositing Motion Properties - Speed - Animating Output - Export - Compressor Integration with LiveType and Soundtrack Pro Note: On Day Two, you will be using headphones, provided by the instructor, to monitor audio. However, if you would prefer, please feel free to bring your own headphones if you have a favorite set that work well for you.
Presented as a Hands-On Intensive:
Longer format (full day or multiple days) in-depth intensive training. Students use our state-of-the-art, fully loaded Macintosh computer lab. For maximum impact and the best student experience all intensives are limited to six participants.
Who Should Take This:
Some familiarity with the Final Cut Pro interface as well as a sound understanding of Macintosh OSX.
Instructor:
Brendan Boykin is an Apple Certified Trainer for Apple’s Pro Video Applications. His company, Creek Mountain Media, provides digital video solutions for various corporate, non-profit and broadcast clients nationwide. His experience includes broadcast production, satellite uplinking and live conference/concert production. Boykin has received a regional Emmy Nomination for directing/technical directing and three Tellys. He has provided Technical Quality Control editing for several Apple Pro Training Series books from Peachpit Press.
