Description:
This is a lecture style workshop.  Students may bring their own
laptops to follow along with the instructor, or simply take notes.
This 3-hour workshop covers the basics of working with Adobe Flash. You will learn how to use the tools in the interface and how to create basic timeline-based animations. Adobe Flash CS4 will be used for the presentation, but most of what is covered will also be applicable to earlier versions of the software. The workshop will cover: - What is Flash - Browsers, Plug-ins, and Compatibility - Overview of Panels, Stage, Scenes, Layers, Library & Symbols - Overview of Animation and Timeline-based image editing - Working with Shape & Motion Tweening - Introduction to Interactivity and basic ActionScripting - Creating a finished product, testing and publishing

Who Should Take This:
Participants should have a good working knowledge of operating a personal computer, either a PC or Mac.
Instructor:
Catherine George is a digital media designer, developer, and instructor, with extensive and diverse experience she has worked in the industry for more than 10 years in a variety of capacities: graphic and interface designer, web designer, animator and motion designer, illustrator, project manager, programmer. She has designed curriculum for and taught digital media design and technology at high school and college levels, to the general public, and as a private tutor. She is also a fine artist who draws, paints, sculpts, creates jewelry and fiber art.
