Getting Started with Dreamweaver
Registration is required for this offering (below).
Description:
If you've always wanted to learn Adobe Dreamweaver, this workshop is the place to start! Dreamweaver produces functional and clean code while being easy to use, and is considered the industry standard for WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editors. In this 3-hour lecture-style course, you'll get to know Dreamweaver's user interface and learn how to set up and maintain sites, as well as techniques for creating basic HTML pages.

The workshop will cover:

- Defining a new site using the Dreamweaver site manager
- The Dreamweaver interface
- Short discussion on common layout techniques (tables/divs/etc.)
- Working with tables
- Introduction to CSS styles as used for almost everything BUT layout
- Adding text, links, and images
- Creating a Dreamweaver template, and then creating your HTML pages with it
- Previewing work in browsers
- Publishing work via FTP

Instruction will be presented in Adobe Dreamweaver CS4, but most of what is taught applies to earlier versions of the program.
Presented as a Lecture-Style Workshop:
Affordable workshops designed to introduce a subject quickly and efficiently. Students can take notes from the instructor's projected computer screen, and/or bring their own computer to follow along.
Who Should Take This:
Participants should have a good working knowledge of operating a personal computer, either a PC or Mac.
Instructor:
Judi Dressler, owner of Sites and Beyond, LLC, has provided professional web design and development since 2001. Her computer experience goes back to many years of programming in the 70’s, and she has always had a flair for art, almost (but not quite) majoring in art and illustration as an undergraduate. Judi has taught many classes on a variety of computer applications, including many on web design, and she also tutors one-on-one. She made her first website about fifteen years ago using html and is happy that professional development software such as Dreamweaver is now available!
