Getting Started with Drupal
Registration is required for this offering (below).
Description:

Perhaps you have heard about Drupal? Maybe you see it on want ads for companies looking for a Drupal developer? Or you saw a great website and discovered it was built with this CMS (Content Management System). Maybe you know there is a large, well established online community that has used Drupal for years.

What’s all the talk about? What is Drupal and why use it?

Drupal is a simple to use content management system that can be updated without knowing a lick of code. It’s database driven, but don’t let that scare you away. In this course you’ll see how to easily install this powerful dynamic system in minutes. Oh, and the software's free!

Drupal can be used for just about anything:

-Personal Sites

-Blogs

-Photo Galleries

-Company Websites

-Community Driven Websites

This course is a little more then an intro to Drupal. It’s designed to give you the tools you need to build a dynamic Drupal site in minutes, or hours. We'll discuss installation, themes, and launching a site. You will learn how to make your site easy to update, impressively functional and dynamic. You’ll discover how simple it is to customize the look of your Drupal site or install one of the many themes available on the web.

We’ll discuss modules (what they are, what they do and why they rule) plus getting the best ones out there that will have you off to a perfect start. You’ll see how to grant access to others so they can update your site from any computer connected to the web. We may go over some CSS techniques in theming our site. We will not go over PHP or MYSQL lingo in regards to advanced module customization.

After taking this workshop, you will understand the power that Drupal gives you as a web developer, blogger, or a web app author.

Location:
BDA Studio
2510 47th Street, Suite 202, Boulder, CO  80301
If you've never been to the BDA Studio before, we encourage you to leave a few minutes early to give yourself a little extra time to find it. The BDA Studio is located just off 47th Street, between Pearl and Valmont. 47th Street is the frontage road on the east side of Foothills Parkway, that parallels Foothills Parkway. Look for a white and green stucco-front, 2-story building on 47th Street about halfway between Pearl and Valmont. The BDA Studio is located above Alpine Sports; there is plenty of parking in front of the building. Enter through the door on the South side of the building (where you will see BDA Studio signage). The studio is located on the second floor in Suite 202, right at the top of the stairs. The Google map will get you pretty close, but is not entirely accurate; so please use the above description to be sure you make it the rest of the way!
