Description:
Are you still writing procedural code but wanting to move to
object-oriented programming? Have you heard people rave about its
advantages but don't know where to begin learning? Have you tried
learning on your own but found some of the concepts a bit overwhelming?
Then this class is for you!
Object-Oriented PHP will cover a wide range of concepts required to
fully understand the world of OOP, and how to write object-oriented
code in PHP. From basic classes and objects, to more advanced concepts
such as inheritance and abstraction, and even a few common design
patterns.
After the class you come away with a foundational understanding of these topics and more:
* OOP Terminology
* Classes, objects, and instantiation
* Inheritance
* Abstract, static and final classes and methods
* Interfaces and implementations
* Common design patterns
The intention of this class is to introduce you into PHP's world of
object-oriented code, and give you a solid foundation on which to
expand your PHP development skill set.
Presented as a Hands-On Intensive:
Longer format (full day or multiple days) in-depth intensive training. Students use our state-of-the-art, fully loaded Macintosh computer lab. For maximum impact and the best student experience all intensives are limited to six participants.
Who Should Take This:
Thorough understanding of basic programming concepts, plus a thorough understanding and some experience with procedural PHP.
Instructor:
Richard began programming with Basic at age 10, and was highly active in the pre-internet social networking systems during the early 90s. He then moved on to Visual Studio while serving with the US Army during the late 1990s. In 2003 he finished his degree in Digital Media, specializing in Internet and Web Technologies. Having taught himself PHP and Javascript, he founded a development outsourcing company, Tenth Street Studios, which he ran successfully until moving to Boulder in late 2007. Formerly a Web Developer with Slice of Lime, a leading web design and development firm located in downtown Boulder, Richard is now the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Developer for Callisto.fm. Richard is also fluent in HTML,CSS, SQL and JavaScript, and has taught college courses at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida.
