The specific topics that will be covered are:
- Differences between AS 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0
- Working with Objects, Classes, Methods, and Properties
- Controlling movieclips and timelines with Actionscript
- Loading and communicating with external graphics and video
- Building Preloaders
- Dynamic text and arrays
- Mouse and keyboard detection
- Trace statements
- Using math operators
- Incorporating content from external XML and text files

Additionally we will discuss integrating Flash elements into websites and things to consider if you are going to use Flash as a front-end interface for database driven content.

Handouts covering a review of terminology, the sample exercise, additional resources and source code will be provided. There will also be plenty of opportunities to get your questions answered during the class!
Be sure to see the first session in this series, Getting Started with Flash which is often offered on the same day (in the morning) as this workshop.

Location:
BDA Studio
2510 47th Street, Suite 202, Boulder, CO  80301
If you've never been to the BDA Studio before, we encourage you to leave a few minutes early to give yourself a little extra time to find it. The BDA Studio is located just off 47th Street, between Pearl and Valmont. 47th Street is the frontage road on the east side of Foothills Parkway, that parallels Foothills Parkway. Look for a white and green stucco-front, 2-story building on 47th Street about halfway between Pearl and Valmont. The BDA Studio is located above Alpine Sports; there is plenty of parking in front of the building. Enter through the door on the South side of the building (where you will see BDA Studio signage). The studio is located on the second floor in Suite 202, right at the top of the stairs. The Google map will get you pretty close, but is not entirely accurate; so please use the above description to be sure you make it the rest of the way!
