Pricing and Selling Wedding and Portrait Photography, Part 1

Characteristics Of This Class:

This two-part workshop addresses one of the biggest challenges for the wedding and portrait photographer: how to price your work for a profitable and sustainable business! Part 1 will walk you through the process of developing a complete product line that compliments your photographic style without overwhelming your client with too many choices. Part 2 shows you how to create an appealing presentation that gets you the sale.

First, we'll learn how to gather and track essential information about your business and how to use it to develop your product lines. Once we have covered the basics of owning a photography business, we will figure out what you need to charge for each of the products that you offer and how much you need to make from each session.

This workshop will cover:
  • How to track and use information about your business to make informed decisions about pricing, employees, etc.
  • Industry standards for expenses, profits and more
  • Calculating how much your products cost to produce
  • Factoring in the time you invest in creating your products
  • How much do you need to charge for your products for a profitable and sustainable photography business
This workshop ends with homework to complete before taking Part 2 - figure out the cost (including your time) for each product you offer and calculate the price you need to charge.
