About Boulder Digital Arts
For over 15 years, BDA has been a community-powered resource organization for people who create things! Whether you work in video, web development, photography, design, technology or marketing, we seek to empower your creative process with events, education, membership, community, collaboration, and resources.
Our innovative training is in high-demand topics ranging from web development to photography to social media marketing. We focus on amazing in-person classes that have been carefully crafted for the modern world to be accessible and practical. Many classes are one day or one evening so they fit perfectly into the lives of busy people who don't have the time for traditional educational programs. All our classes are taught by industry professionals who teach cutting-edge tools and techniques with an emphasis on practical skills. In addition, our optional membership program allows you to join a unique creative community and provides you privileged access to all BDA has to offer.
Thanks For Supporting Our Local Business
Boulder Digital Arts is proud of our local roots - we were not conceived on Wall Street as an investment. We've never had plans to open campuses across the country. Rather, we've been privileged to serve Colorado's creatives, digital professionals, makers and entrepreneurs for over 15 years right here in Boulder. Over the last few years, many very well-funded organizations have moved to Colorado. Sure, their money gives them a strong voice that we don't have, but BDA is still here and we continue to evolve and grow within our community. We thank you for supporting a small, local business!
A Modern Alternative for Learning Practical Skills Quickly
We are here to help you learn specific new skills quickly throughout your career or creative process - just what you need, when you need it. Since we are not a school or academic institution, our classes and workshops are open to anyone regardless of your age, profession or background with no admissions requirements. As a non-academic organization, our sole focus is providing great learning experiences. We don't test or issue degrees or academic credentials. You can take any class at any time on any subject and in any sequence. How refreshing!
Our classes and workshop are available both in-person and online (OnDemand) so you can benefit from our world-class instructors no matter where you live! Learn more about our OnDemand program and the classes available for instant viewing.
BDA also provides you with private and group training, so whether you need a quick brush-up on your tech skills, or you need to get your team trained on the latest version, our instructors can tailor the content to just what you need to learn.
In addition, BDA supports the creative and technology community in the region with coworking private offices, regular networking and social events, membership program, Digital Salon series, free creative professionals directory and mentoring/internship opportunities.
The Boulder Digital Arts Team
Bruce Borowsky, Co-Founder
In addition to being a Co-Founder of Boulder Digital Arts, Bruce Borowsky has been an award-winning filmmaker for over 25 years. As a partner in Pixel Mill Studios, Bruce specializes in mid to high-end corporate videos, as well as many documentaries. Bruce has worked on a wide variety of projects all over the world for both corporate and commercial clients not only as producer and director, but also as cameraman, lighting director, and editor.
While getting his Masters at San Francisco State University in the late 80's, Bruce had the good fortune to work full-time for renowned adventure photographer Galen Rowell. For over 5 years in the early 90's, Bruce produced "The Climbing Show," a half-hour television series on rock climbing and mountaineering, broadcast nationally on the Outdoor Channel. Bruce's personal documentary "18 days, 16 hours," which recounted his sailboat race across the Atlantic ocean in 2002, won "Best Documentary" award at a national film festival. Bruce is currently working on his latest personal doc "Walking On Eggshells," about people who have a family member with a mental illness - attempting to better illustrate what's it's like for the families. You can see more of Bruce's work at www.pixelmillstudios.com. Email Bruce.
Zach Daudert, Co-Founder
Zach has 20 years of experience working in video production and web development - often combining both. He began his career early (at 15) as an intern at his hometown cable station. Since then he has worked on a staggering array of projects in every imaginable role. From video editor to software architect, the common threads have been creativity, deep technical skill and impressive problem solving skills. Whatever he's up to, he brings passion, enthusiasm, a formidable work ethic, positive outlook, as little ego as possible, a dubious sense of humor and his MacBook Pro.
Zach loves to create things and loves plants/gardening. He takes multivitamins with beer to stay healthy (and happy) and continues to teach the world that you can spell Zach with an "h". Email Zach.
Donna Gross, Operations Manager
Donna embarked on a new adventure when she relocated to Boulder and joined the team at Boulder Digital Arts. As a child of a rocket scientist, she grew up on the beach in Florida with neighbors who were astronauts and witnessed hundreds of launches over the years. And after graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and working for a few years, the call of "backpacking around the world" came and so off she went. Four years later she returned to the USA, ultimately ran her own company for 15 years and is now delighted to call Colorado home. Donna has traveled in almost 60 countries, is a retired teaching tennis pro, a lover of red wine, and a 13 mph road cyclist. She enjoys writing travel stories, learning WordPress and dreams of creating a collection of exceptional photographs. She continues her educational pursuits in all things digital - WordPress, SEO and Digital Photography/Lightroom. Here at Boulder Digital Arts, she applies creativity and attention to detail along with an "it's all good" attitude to BDA's 300+ events a year. Email Donna.
