Boulder Digital Arts Production Studio
Whether you're shooting video or stills, having the controlled environment of a professional studio can make your life a lot easier - no airplanes flying overhead, no dogs running through your frame, and no rain! BDA has partnered with Daylight Productions and Rentals to provide an inexpensive, professional studio that can be rented at very low cost by the hour, so filmmakers, web designers, and photographers can produce their projects in a professional space.
The BDA/Daylight Studio offers highly reduced rates only to members of BDA, so BDA members pay as little as $35 an hour! The typical market rate of renting a professional studio like ours would normally be two or three times that cost. With its central location and close proximity to BDA, it offers a facility perfect for everything from basic interviews to multi-camera productions at a very affordable price.
The studio measures 40' long x 40' wide x 12.5 tall to the lighting grid. The studio has been acoustically treated, with an extremely quiet HVAC system, and house AC power is plentiful. There are many different areas for shooting, as well as a large overhead door for load-in of gear, sets and props; a green room, kitchen, makeup area, and lounge - all included in both packages!
The basic package costs only $35 an hour to rent, and includes not only the shell of the studio, but a complete 4-head Arri light kit. In the full package, there are over 60 lighting fixtures pre-installed in the ceiling grid ready to go, with full dimming capabilities! Those lighting fixtures include softlites, backlights, background lights, side lights, and more. In essence - everything you need, except for camera and audio! Reflectors, C-stands, flags, and stingers are also available if you need them - at no additional charge!
There is a 22' wide cyc wall for greenscreen shooting, and is available to be painted white or other colors for an additional cost. There is also a 12' wide black and white seamless, as well as a number of other colors for backgrounds. In addition, the studio has black and gray drapery on ceiling tracks, and several different color muslins that can also be used as backdrops if desired.
There is a 2 to 4 person fireplace set for a talk-show look, and can provide seating for 40-50 people for live audience shoots. For multi-camera shoots, there is a control room with a direct view into the studio; and the control room is pre-wired for live switching. With the addition of portable walls and flats, the BDA/Daylight Studio can easily meet most any requirement.
If you're looking to take your production up a notch, Daylight also offers a wide array of additional equipment for rent in or out of the studio, including HD/SD camera packages and monitors, teleprompters, HMI and tungsten lights, audio, dolly and jibs, and HD/SD Switchers.

How To Reserve the Studio
BDA members can reserve the production studio by emailing studio@boulderdigitalarts.com or calling the BDA/Daylight Studio at 303-440-3334. We encourage you to reserve as far in advance as possible in order to insure that you get the time slot you prefer. Reservations are secured with a one-hour deposit priced for whichever package you'll be using. Your deposit will only be refunded when cancellation is made with at least 24 hours notice.
Driving Directions
4700 Sterling Dr. Suite I, Boulder, CO 80301. The BDA/Daylight Production Studio is located just east of Foothills Parkway. Take Pearl or Valmont east to 47th Street (the frontage road just east of Foothills Parkway) then turn east onto Sterling Drive. The studio at the far end of the building on the corner of 47th Street and Sterling Drive.
