Boulder Digital Arts Workstation & Gear Rentals

Comptuer Workstation Rentals Boulder Colorado

Digital Lab Workstation Rentals

BDA members can rent a fully-loaded iMac workstation for only $8 hour, or $50 for the whole day! The digital lab is available Monday - Thursday from 9am to 9pm, Friday 9am - 5pm. Reservations are highly recommended; though drop-ins are okay if there's availability. Please feel free to call or email us to make a reservation. All our workstations have the following features.

  • 21.5" iMac with Intel i5 2.5Ghz Processor and 4GB of RAM
  • Macintosh OSX 10.7 Lion
  • Apple Final Cut Pro Studio 3 (includes Final Cut Pro 7, Motion 4, DVD Studio Pro 4 and Color 1.5)
  • Apple Final Cut Pro X
  • Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection (includes Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweavr, Flash and more)
  • Apple Xcode
  • MAMP (Apache, MySQL and PHP server)

We recommend you use an external storage device (hard drive, USB thumb drive, etc.) since the hard drives on the computers themselves are "cleaned" on a regular basis. We invite you to bring your own hardware if you have a particular need (video capture, etc.).

    Please note:
  • All equipment rentals are subject to 8.31% sales tax.
  • There is a one-hour minimum on all rentals; no exceptions.
  • You must be a current BDA member to use our digital lab.
  • BDA staff are only available to troubleshoot any basic computer problems but will not be able to assist you with software or questions related to your specific task. However, in addition to our wide range of training we also offer one-on-one mentoring if you'd like to learn something in particular or need extra help.
Professional 24 inch printer

Professional 24" Photo Printer

Make your own LARGE prints on a high-end, 24" color photo printer, the HP 3200, made available to us by Digital2You.

Print your files - up to 24" wide by 100 feet long! Pricing is very low at $2 a square foot if you bring your own paper, or $4 a linear foot (24 inches wide multiplied by the length of the print) when using our paper roll. Please click here for a detailed description of the printer. BDA offers training on color management and photographic output on a regular basis; however, please keep in mind that BDA is not a service bureau - this is a self-service option designed for people who are comfortable working with professional printers, since BDA staff does not provide any type of high-end color calibration. Members will be charged for all the prints output on this printer and are responsible for managing their own print quality with very limited support from our staff.

To use the printer, you must be a current BDA member. Simply make an appointment by contacting us during regular office hours (Monday - Thursday from 9am to 9pm, Friday 9am - 5pm); at your appointment you’ll need to bring your computer from which to print - you'll get the drivers and software installed and be shown how to use the printer. On subsequent appointments, you can just schedule a time to come and print! There is a $10 minimum on all printing.
