Pro Tools Essentials for Audio Producers
What You'll Learn
Pro Tools has been the industry standard DAW for recording, mixing,
and editing for many years. In this course we will equip you with the
fundamental Pro Tools concepts audio producers will need to complete
a Pro Tools project from set-up to final mixes.
This course is tailored and designed for new and experienced Pro Tools users looking to build a solid foundation for learning the software. No experience with Pro Tools is required.
The students will be working with a multi-track session, as well as
recording live in the studio. You'll get hands on experience and our
projects will introduce essential techniques for creating sessions,
recording and importing audio. As well a MIDI, editing session media,
navigating sessions and the arrangement of media, as well as using
basic processing and mixing techniques to finalize the production.
Included in the course will be all of the Pro Tools session files and
media that will accompany the exercises.
What you will learn by the end of this course:
• Create a Pro Tools session with appropriate parameters
• Accomplish common audio production tasks
• Advanced audio editing techniques in a multi-track environment
• Integrate appropriate recording and mixing techniques for audio
and MIDI files in Pro Tools
• Understanding of Pro Tools session file structures
• Navigation of the Pro Tools interface and the essential tools

I started out as a musician, hailing from Rochester New York and then moved to Colorado in 2003. My love for music and sound production propelled me to study Audio Production at the Art Institute of Colorado and then proceed to receive my Masters at UC Denver for Recording Arts and Post-Production. I am a multi-instrumentalist focusing mostly on drums and percussion. Currently I am playing in a number of groups along the Front Range, as well as studio recording and post-production for commercials, movies and documentaries.
