Description:
If you're interested in having your own Podcast and have some technical
knowledge, this is the class for you!
Over the course of this three-hour workshop you'll learn how to create
professional Podcasts by recording, editing and preparing an example
Podcast with an expert. You'll learn the ins and outs of this exciting
format through a fun and informative mix of lecture and hand-on learning.
The workshop will begin with a staged recording session to demonstrate
this critical first step in creating a Podcast. During the recording
session you'll learn tips and techniques for capturing great content at
the best quality possible as well as insight into the equipment
necessary to create a professional Podcast.
Next, with source material ready to go, participants will form small
groups, each with their own BDA computer workstation. The
groups will be lead by Joe through the process of editing, encoding and
distributing a sample Podcast. Each group be working with the same
materials to create the same Podcast. The groups will be small enough
for each participant to get a close-up, hands-on look at the entire process.
Presented as a Lecture-Style Workshop:
Affordable workshops designed to introduce a subject quickly and efficiently. Students can take notes from the instructor's projected computer screen, and/or bring their own computer to follow along.
Who Should Take This:
Participants should be familiar with the concept of Podcasting and be comfortable enough with computer and recording technology to be prepared to dive directly into the process of recording, editing and distributing a Podcast. We recommend taking our Podcasting 101 workshop prior to this class if you would like a comprehensive introduction to Podcasting.
Instructor:
Joe is the founder of Metafy, whose mission since 2003 has been to create tools that enable users to increase the value of the information available from the Internet. Joe's entrepreneurial background includes starting one of the earliest Internet-only radio networks, best known for the widely acclaimed and much missed freeform eclectic station GoGaGa.com.

Prior to that venture, Joe spent three years as a senior researcher at Apple Computer's Electronic Media Lab working with the R&D team developing technology, content and business models for the Apple Online Services divison.

Joe has also provided entertainment technology consulting services to large and small companies (ranging from start-ups to publicly traded companies), managed engineering and business development, and worked in publishing, broadcasting and marketing for more than 15 years.
