Introduction to Aperture, Part 2

Characteristics Of This Class:

Digital photographers using Camera RAW can harness Aperture's powerful features to manage and edit thousands of photos. Aperture's incredible tools let you speed through photo edits, make essential image adjustments, and publish photos online and in print using one simple, integrated, nondestructive workflow.

This workshop dives deeper into Aperture's editing features, starting with the viewers and selection tools and moving on to advanced correction and composition controls with the Adjustments Inspector. You'll learn to apply those changes to multiple images and publish them online, in e-mail, or in print, with time at the end for Q & A.

This workshop will cover:

  • Histograms
  • Levels controls
  • Luminance adjustments
  • Highlights and shadows
  • Fine tuning and white balance
  • Sharpening techniques
  • Monochrome processing for black and white images
  • Lifting and stamping
Because Aperture is built around a specific workflow, we strongly recommend taking both Part 1 and Part 2 in order to understand the full process.

Who Should Take This:

Digital photographers who have taken Introduction to Aperture, Part 1 or have equivalent experience.

Fabulous! John Waugh is an excellent instructor. He packed a lot into two evenings.

Very thorough explanation of the features of Aperture 3 — just what I was looking for.

Erika, 8/25/2010

This comment is for both part 1 & 2. John Waugh is highly knowledgeable and a very good instructor. I got a lot of things out of this course that I would not have tumbled to on my own. His style is very low key and not at all condescending. That makes it very easy for all in the class to interact without fear of criticism.
