If you're familiar with a non-linear editor (NLE) like Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Avid, or Vegas, learning Adobe After Effects is a natural progression of your editing skills. This powerful cross-platform software is not just for adding effects to footage, but is the industry-standard application for compositing, motion graphics, titling, tracking, and so much more.
We'll briefly start with the fundamentals of using After Effects in a video production environment and work towards basic mastery of common tasks.
This workshop will cover:
Video editors familiar with using professional post-production software. Users of other Adobe programs like Premiere Pro, Photoshop, or Illustrator should be able to get up to speed quickly, but if you've never used pro-level software, take Getting Started with Adobe Premiere Pro first.

Brian Brown has owned his own full-service video and motion-graphics production business, BrownCow Productions, since 2004. A 'one-man show,' he scripts, produces, shoots, and edits all of his own content. He regularly creates video for the web, broadcast television, large events, and in-house corporate training. In December 2009, he purchased a Canon 7D video-capable DLSR, and has never looked back, embracing the cinematic look this camera provides his productions. He's shot hundreds of hours of footage with his DSLR.
I fell like I can now get into the program and begin learning by trial and error were as I couldn't even get started before.
